// COLLECTOR'S GUIDE
The best shops for Pokémon cards across Tokyo — Akihabara, Nakano Broadway and Ikebukuro. Curated by the collectors behind Trip Rips.
If you have one day, start in Akihabara for modern singles and sealed product, then take the JR Chūō line to Nakano Broadwayfor vintage and Japanese WOTC-era cards. Save the Pokémon Centers in Ikebukuro or Shibuya for latest-set booster boxes and official merch.
Akihabara is the densest area — dozens of TCG shops within a 10-minute walk of the station, most stacked into multi-floor "hobby buildings" like Radio Kaikan. Prices are competitive because dealers watch each other.
Nakano Broadway is the vintage hunter's pilgrimage. The 2nd through 4th floors of this 1966 arcade are lined with tiny specialist shops selling 1996–2000 Japanese Pokémon cards, holo rares, and grail-tier binders.
Ikebukuro and Shibuya are Pokémon Center territory — first-party stores from The Pokémon Company. They sell sealed product, plush, apparel and location-exclusives, but not loose singles.
