Terms and Conditions
Last Updated: July 4, 2026
Welcome to TripRips (the "Platform"). By accessing, registering an account, or using the Platform, you agree to be bound by this combined Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy document ("Terms"). These Terms govern your use of the Platform and outline how we collect, use, and protect your personal information. If you do not agree to these Terms, please do not use the Platform.
Seller / Data Controller: TripRips is owned and operated by Lorenzo Martin (sole proprietor), based in the Republic of the Philippines ("we", "us", "our"). Lorenzo Martin is the seller of all products and services offered through the Platform and acts as the data controller for personal information collected through the Platform. For contact details, see the Contact & Support section at the end of this document.
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns.
1. Age Requirement and Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years of age to access or use the Platform. The Platform is strictly intended for adult users. By creating an account, you represent and warrant that you are 18 years of age or older. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors. If we discover or have reason to suspect that you are under 18, we will take immediate steps to delete your data and terminate your account without notice.
2. User Accounts
- Responsibility: You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activities that occur under your account.
- Accuracy: You agree to provide accurate and complete information when creating your account.
- Termination: We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time, for any reason, without notice or liability.

3. Privacy and Data Collection
Your privacy is important to us. This section details how we handle your personal information. Lorenzo Martin, operator of TripRips, is the data controller responsible for personal data processed through the Platform.
- Information We Collect: We collect your account details (username, email address, password), user-generated content (pinned locations, reviews, RSVP statuses), and device/usage data (IP addresses, device types, map interactions).
- Location Data and Management: Because TripRips is a map-based application, we collect precise or approximate geolocation data from your device, subject to your permissions.
- Active Tracking Only: We only access your location data while the application is open and actively running on your screen. The Platform does not track your location in the background when the app is closed.
- Opting Out: You can control location tracking by adjusting your device's settings, though disabling it will limit proximity-based features.
- How We Use Your Data: We use your information strictly to operate the map services, plot locations in real-time while you use the app, calculate distances, manage security, and improve performance.
- Legal Basis for Processing: We process personal data on the following bases: (a) performance of a contract — to provide the account, map, and premium features you sign up for; (b) legitimate interests — to secure the Platform, prevent fraud and abuse, and improve the service; (c) consent — for optional features such as precise device location; and (d) legal obligation — where processing is required by applicable law.
- Data Sharing and Recipients: We do not sell your personal information. We share data with the following categories of recipients:
- Merchant of Record: Paddle.com Market Limited ("Paddle") processes all purchases, subscription management, payments, tax compliance, invoicing, and refunds. Paddle receives the personal and transactional data required to complete your order (such as name, email, billing address, and payment details). Paddle acts as an independent controller for payment data — see Paddle's privacy notice at paddle.com/legal/privacy.
- Service providers / subprocessors: hosting and database providers, map and geocoding APIs, and analytics/support tooling, all under confidentiality obligations.
- Public content: content you choose to post (reviews, pinned locations, RSVPs).
- Legal authorities: where required by law or valid legal process.
- Data Retention: We retain your account and profile data for as long as your account remains active. If you delete your account, we will delete or anonymize your personal data within 90 days, except where longer retention is required by law (for example, tax and transactional records retained by Paddle for up to 10 years under applicable accounting rules). Public content you posted may be retained in anonymized form.
- Data Security and Rights: We implement technical safeguards to protect your data, though no electronic storage is completely secure. In compliance with the Philippine Data Privacy Act of 2012 (Republic Act No. 10173), you have the right to request access to, correction of, deletion of, or portability of your personal data, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Submit requests via our in-app support.
4. Real-World Interactions & Map Usage
The Platform provides map data related to Trading Card Game (TCG) locations, events, and meetups.
- Map Data Accuracy and Updates: The location information displayed on the Platform may not always be up to date. Updates to the map, including shop statuses, operating hours, meetup details, and pinned locations, are not performed on a regular or guaranteed basis. You are strongly encouraged to independently verify the details and open status of any location before traveling.
- Proceed at Your Own Risk: Traveling to physical locations listed on the Platform involves inherent risks. We do not vet, endorse, or guarantee the safety of any location, event, or individual user found through the Platform.
- No Liability for Real-World Events: The developers and owners of TripRips are not responsible or liable for any disputes, injuries, physical altercations, property damage, or losses that occur at physical locations or during interactions with other users or third parties.
5. User-Generated Content
- You retain ownership of the locations, comments, or content you add, but grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute it on the Platform.
- We reserve the right to remove any user-submitted content at our sole discretion.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
The Platform is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, the developers disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including but not limited to the accuracy, freshness, or reliability of map data, secure access, and the prevention of data loss.
7. Limitation of Liability
Under no circumstances shall the developers or owners of TripRips be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages. This includes liability for personal injury, property damage, loss of profits, wasted travel expenses, or errors in user-generated map data resulting from your use of the Platform.
8. Indemnification
You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless the developers from any claims, damages, losses, or liabilities arising from your use of the Platform, your violation of these Terms, or your interaction with any physical location found via the map.
9. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of the Philippines. Any disputes arising under or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the Philippines.
Refund Policy
Last Updated: July 4, 2026
This Refund Policy governs any purchases, subscriptions, or transactions made through TripRips (the "Platform"). By making a purchase on or through the Platform, you agree to this policy.
1. Money-Back Guarantee
We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on premium subscriptions purchased through TripRips. If you are not satisfied with your purchase, you may request a full refund within 14 days of the transaction date.
All purchases on TripRips are processed by our payment provider, Paddle.com, which acts as the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Refunds are handled directly by Paddle, not by TripRips. We are unable to issue refunds on Paddle's behalf. See Section 6 below for how to contact Paddle.
2. Subscriptions and Cancellations
If the Platform offers premium subscriptions or recurring billing:
- Cancellation: You may cancel your subscription at any time through your account settings.
- Access After Cancellation: Upon cancellation, you will continue to have access to your premium features until the end of your current paid billing cycle.
- No Prorated Refunds: We do not provide prorated refunds for partial months or unused time remaining in your billing cycle.
3. In-App Purchases and App Store Policies
If you made a purchase through a third-party platform (such as the Apple App Store or Google Play Store), your purchase is subject to the refund policies of that respective store. TripRips cannot process refunds for transactions managed by Apple or Google. To request a refund for these purchases, you must contact Apple or Google customer support directly.
4. User-to-User Transactions and Real-World Events
TripRips maps Trading Card Game (TCG) locations, meetups, and events.
- No Platform Involvement: We are not a party to any transactions that occur between users, or between users and physical TCG shops listed on the map.
- No Liability for External Sales: We do not issue refunds for physical cards bought, sold, or traded at meetups, nor do we refund entry fees paid to third-party event organizers or local game stores. Any disputes regarding physical goods or event ticketing must be resolved directly with the seller or event host.
5. Exceptional Circumstances
In addition to the 14-day guarantee, Paddle may consider refund requests outside the standard window in exceptional circumstances, including:
- Technical Errors: You were charged multiple times for a single transaction due to a technical error on our Platform.
- Service Unavailability: The premium features you purchased were fundamentally non-functional or unavailable for an extended, unreasonable period of time.
Requests for exceptional refunds are submitted through the same Paddle channels described in Section 6.
6. How to Request a Refund
Because Paddle is the Merchant of Record for all TripRips purchases, refund requests must be sent directly to Paddle. TripRips cannot process refunds on your behalf.
Contact Paddle using any of the following:
- Buyer portal: paddle.net — look up your order using the email address you used at checkout.
- Help center: paddle.net/help
- Email: help@paddle.com
When contacting Paddle, please have your order confirmation email or transaction ID ready. Paddle typically responds within a few business days.
Refund requests must be submitted within 14 days of the transaction date, in accordance with Section 1.
